Chris and Jennifer Thomas, Team Advocates

Chris and Jennifer Thomas

Chris enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1991, and after completing the Marine Enlisted Commissioning Education Program at Texas A&M University in 2000, he was commissioned as a second lieutenant.  Chris and Jennifer married in 2002 just prior to Chris being deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2003.  This would be the first of seven deployments they would endure together, four of which were combat deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan.  Chris retired after 23 years of service in 2014.

Jennifer continued to work during those deployments and raised their two children almost single-handedly due to Chris being gone so much.  In 2018 they were introduced to SOARING WINGS FOUNDATION through Bob’s sister, when she recognized that Chris was pursuing getting a service dog.  After attending Dr. DiSiena’s orientation, they immediately asked for neurofeedback treatment for Chris to help address his post-traumatic stress.  The neurofeedback therapy proved to be highly successful in reducing Chris’ anxiety related to his post-traumatic stress.

Chris and Jennifer continue to support the mission of SOARING WINGS FOUNDATION and have referred numerous veterans and first responders to the foundation for treatment.  They are also advocates for the foundation and are always available to answer questions from the perspective of someone who has gone through the program and as a family member.
